St Albans based Artist Samantha Hurley paints for emotional release and self-expression as has done so since her earliest memories before even being taught to write at school. Painting is Samantha’s passion and the primary medium used is Acrylic on Canvas. Samantha has enjoyed painting whimsical beach scenes developing into more atmospheric seascapes however in preparation of the solo exhibition she had decided to influence her work with darker themes of the human mind.
Samantha came up with the concept of ‘Trapped’ (solo art exhibition June 2018) while looking at childhood, and adolescence. Understanding through talking to friends, colleagues and acquaintances about their experiences creating the feeling of being ‘Trapped’ at some point in their lives. The work is meant to be thought provoking and asks for the viewer to try and connect with the untold story and their personal experiences.Samantha has exhibited at the New Artist Fair, the 'Rare Art' Exhibition at The Menier Gallery, London and Animal Studios & Gallery in Bedford, Nude Tin Can Gallery in St Albans plus more including her own curated pop up exhibition business 'Affordable S.art Sale'. Samantha is available for commissioned work and limited edition prints can be obtained on request. Greeting cards are also available.
